Wasteland is a cafe that derives its identity from the punk music genre.
Sonora is a cidery that distinguishes itself among other cideries by producing cactus-infused hard cider in a multitude of flavors. The cactus in question used in the cider is the prickly pear fruit. The unusual blend of flavors which creates the unique liquid colors of the cider helped inspire the vibrant palette that gives the brand a wild yet fresh identity befitting of its taste.
A mark created to look organic, designed in an emblem style with a logotype modified to feel both rustic and fun. The logo was crafted in a way that would have it to work in various colors, allowing it to play on the palette of the label.
Crafted to fit the edginess of the punk genre, the logotype stems from a custom display font that was made to look rough and crude. Based on the existing typeface New Nord, this custom font was recreated to have a bold, hand-rendered look often seen in the various fonts used classic 70s and 80s punk rock posters.
Designed with the system of a crest emblem in mind, the label is kept to a typographic system that plays with the funky typefaces and vibrant color palette. The palette of the label itself was intended to highly contrast with the color of the liquid to give the entire bottle a vibrance that sets it apart from other cider bottles.
