Abydos is a brewing company that crafts a refreshing series of beer that anyone can enjoy to celebrate one of ancient Egypt’s many legacies. Their brews are a tribute to the history and artistry of Egyptian craftsmanship, blending traditional techniques with modern innovations to grant an experience that feels both reminiscent and modern. The name Abydos stems from the location of the discovery of what could have been the world's oldest known beer factory, dating back about 5,000 years.
Designed to have an elegant and timeless look, the logo is a custom serif built upon the proportions of Alumni Sans and Bebas Neue Pro. A rustic yet modern feel is given to the label through the use of patterns, texture, and type structure. The carrier follows a similar structure to the label and expands upon it with illustrative elements related to the city of Abydos on the sides.
Being a corporate pharmaceutical company, the brand would need an annual report and capabilities brochure design that fits with the new visual identity. Created utilizing their strongest source of brand equity from their current brand—their color palette.
Promotional items related to beer culture were designed with the intention of being used for the launch of the brand to create and enhance awareness. These designs follow the same rationale behind that of the packaging design.
